My work is informed by the landscape and structures of the far northern highlands of Scotland, where I live. Each of my images attempts in some way to tell the story of the place, while at the same time communicating a moment of significance to the viewer. The printmaking medium of intaglio collagraph in which I work, with all its atmospheric possibilities, seems to be the most fitting way of conveying the beauty and mystery of these moments and locations.

The most beautiful and deepest experience a man (sic) can have is the sense of the mysterious. It is the underlying principle of ... all serious endeavour in art and science: Albert Einstein (from: The World As I See It, 1949)
